Waterloo Manor Hospital is the largest female personality disorder service in the United Kingdom, providing specialized assessment and treatment for women with complex mental health needs.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietician to join the team!
Job Purpose
To assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ nutritional needs, providing evidence-based dietary advice to support recovery, improve health outcomes, and promote overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Care
· Assess patients’ nutritional status and dietary needs
· Develop and implement personalised nutrition care plans
· Monitor and review patient progress, adjusting plans as needed
· Provide specialist advice for patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and eating disorders
Patient Support & Education
· Educate patients, families, and carers on healthy eating and nutrition
· Support behaviour change and promote long-term healthy habits
· Deliver one-to-one consultations and group education sessions
Multidisciplinary Working
· Work closely with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
· Contribute to patient care plans and clinical reviews
· Provide nutritional input during ward rounds and case discussions
Documentation & Administration
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
· Use electronic health systems to document care and outcomes
· Prepare reports and contribute to audits or service evaluations
Health Promotion
· Support public health initiatives and nutritional awareness programmes
· Develop resources such as meal plans, leaflets, and guidance materials
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Skills
· Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
· Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
· Strong communication and counselling skills
· Ability to interpret clinical data and apply nutritional science
· Good organisational and time-management skills
Desirable
· Experience in a clinical or mental health setting
· Knowledge of specialist diets (e.g. enteral feeding, weight management)
· Understanding of psychological aspects of eating behaviours
